Greek Of The Month - November 2007
Greek of the Month is a peer recognition given to members of the Fraternity & Sorority Community who demonstrate outstanding leadership, service, academic accomplishment and brotherhood/sisterhood. This individual is a person of good moral character who upholds the values of the fraternal community and the University.
Travis Ward (Sigma Chi)

Travis demonstrates outstanding leadership, service, academic accomplishment and brotherhood. "He is a person of good moral character who upholds the values of the Fraternity and Sorority community and the University," said his nominator Joshua Rabinowitz of Sigma Chi. Travis is a mathematics tutor through the Center for Undergraduate Education Center, a volunteer for the Special Olympics, a member of UConn PIRG, the Red Cross and Community Outreach for which he was a Hurricane Katrina Relief Trip leader. He is a Biomedical Engineering Major with a minor in Mathematics with a 3.44 GPA. Travis is a perfect example of what fraternity men should strive to be like.

Kristina Jorge (Kappa Alpha Theta)

Kristina is the perfect example of what someone in Greek life should be like. She has been a leader in her chapter and for Greek life as a whole. She is currently the Recruitment chair for the Panhellenic council and is on the HuskyTHON committee this year as the Recruitment chair. She has also volunteered with Guard Dogs and her work with service has also encouraged other members of her chapter to get involved. Kristina is a senior Marketing major and Spanish minor. "A sister is someone that you can count on and that will be there for you whenever you need something and that is exactly what Kristina is," said her nominator Danielle Kohl also from Kappa Alpha Theta. |
