HuskyTHON Dance Marathon is the University of Connecticut's largest student-run philanthropic event. Every spring, hundreds of UConn students and dozens of student organizations form teams and pledge to remain standing for numerous consecutive hours to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network (CMN) and the Connecticut Children's Medical Center (CCMC) in Hartford, CT. Across the nation, over 80 schools hold Dance Marathons to raise money for Children's Miracle Network. In 2002, college students participating in Dance Marathons raised almost $3 million for the Children's Miracle Network.

HuskyTHON History
In the 1990's the UConn Greek community ran a Jail and Bail for the American Cancer Society for over five years. Over a 2-day period we consistently raised $15-20,000, and the last two years UConn's was the second most successful campus-based Jail and Bail in the country. The American Cancer Society nationally made the decision to discontinue the J & B program. When J &B ended, UConn Greeks decided to get involved with dance marathons.UConn Greeks then approached CMN who identified the Connecticut Children's Medical Center as the local CMN hospital. The Husky Midnight Marathon (now called HuskyTHON) was first introduced to the UConn campus in the fall of 1999.

Over the years, HuksyTHON has raised over $100,000 for CMN & CCMC!
