Alpha Epsilon Phi (ΑΕΦ)
Alpha Epsilon Phi is a national sorority, founded in 1909, dedicated to helping women become the best they can be. We prize individuality, encouraging each member to discover and develop the talents and abilities that make her unique.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (ΑΚΑ)
On January 15 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority became America's first Greek-letter organization established by Black college women. AKA's roots date back to Howard University, Washington, DC, where Ethel Hedgeman Lyle conceived the idea for formation.

Alpha Phi (ΑΦ)
Alpha Phi International Fraternity is a membership organization dedicated to promoting sisterhood, cultivating leadership, encouraging intellectual curiosity and advocating service. Alpha Phi develops character for a lifetime. Alpha Phi seeks the highest ideal of womanhood, and tries to gain this ideal by cultivating not only the power and passion for seeking intellectual development but, also, the spirit of love and charity. Alpha Phi was founded at Syracuse University on Oct. 10, 1872.
Delta Gamma (ΔΓ)
Delta Gamma was founded in December 1873 in Oxford, Mississippi at the Lewis School for Girls near the University of Mississippi. DG seeks to foster high ideals of friendship, promote educational and cultural interests, and develop the best qualities of character in college women.

In December of 1975, Lambda Theta Alpha Sorority, Inc. was founded at Kean University in New Jersey as the first Latina sorority in the nation. The LTA National Philanthropy is the F.U.T.U.R.O. Program: Focused Urban Teens United and Ready for Opportunity. This program is designed to reach out to young teens and enable through mentoring and educational workshops. FUTURO enhances social and communication skills to cultivate and empower future leaders.

Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority, Inc. was founded on November 21, 1981 at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, as the first Multicultural Minority Greek Sorority in the nation. Founded by five women of Latina descent, they envisioned the unity of all women, regardless of race, color, or ethnic background. Hence their motto, "Mujeres Siempre Unidas," or "Women Always United."

Phi Sigma Rho was founded September 24, 1984 at Purdue University by Abby McDonald and Rhasmi Khanna who had the idea for creating a social sorority that could accommodate a rigorous engineering schedule. Today the UConn chapter currently operates under the motto "Together We Build The Future."

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc was founded on December 4, 1906 at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and was the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African-Americans. The seven college men who founded Alpha Phi Alpha did so because they recognized the need for a strong bond of Brotherhood among African descendants in this country.

Delta Chi was formed on October 13, 1890 by eleven law students at Cornell University, and in 1929 became the first fraternity to officially abolish hazing practices. Delta Chi believes in promoting friendship, developing character, advancing justice, and assisting in the acquisition of a sound education.

- $34,124.92 raised by UConn Greeks for charity in Fall 2005 semester.
- 3174.25 hours spent by UConn Greeks doing community service in the Fall 2005 semester.

As a local group, Theta has been on campus since 1883, and then in 1942 the chapter officially received their national recognition from Kappa Alpha Theta, since making them the first national chartered sorority on campus.
- Zeta Beta Tau was the first fraternity founded at the University of Connecticut. In 1916, the national organization Phi Epsilon Pi, was found and then merged into Zeta Beta Tau.
- Fraternities and sororities have been part of campus life for the majority of the University's existence. National fraternities and sororities have had chapters at UConn for more than 85 years.
- For over five years, the UConn Greek community ran a Jail and Bail for the American Cancer Society. Over a 2-day period we consistently raised $15-20,000, and the last two years UConn's was the second most successful campus-based Jail and Bail in the country.
