New Fraternity & Sorority Housing
The State of Connecticut, as part of it's investment in the University of Connecticut, granted $12 million to build new Greek housing. Construction began in the summer of 2002, and 8 fraternities and 5 sororities took residence in the new townhouse style units in the fall of 2003. This new Greek housing community, called "Husky Village", allowed many fraternities to gain campus housing, as well as created double the number of beds for the sororities. Please see the housing page for more information and pictures of the Husky Village.
Philanthropy & Events
Greek students continue to be very active on campus and in the community. Chapters are participating in service projects on and off campus almost every weekend. Philanthropy events are constantly occurring throughout the year. Greeks get very involved in Homecoming events and with Husky Midnight Marathon, a Greek student fundraising initiative for the Connecticut Children's Medical Center. Please see the individual chapter websites for more information and updates about specific chapters.
